According to reports in Italy, Newcastle are interested in a deal to sign Juventus full-back Rogerio – with the Italian giants ‘open’ to selling him at the ‘right price’ this month.
The 20-year-old Brazilian youth international is currently 18 months into his two-year loan spell with Serie A side Sassuolo, however it seems Juventus are willing to sanction a permanent move away this month.
This comes from Gazzetta dello Sport, who also claim that Wolves and Chelsea have shown interest in the Brazilian.
Rogerio is predominantly a left-back but can also operate as a winger, with him featuring heavily for 11th place Serie A side Sassuolo over the past season and a half.
If this one’s true, it sounds like another scenario where Rafa’s using his contacts in a bid to sign promising young players that haven’t quite cut it at top clubs – with his attempt to sign PSG’s young full-back Stanley N’Soki last summer a similar example.
Here’s him in action:
Would love it to be true, but it’ll go the way of the N’Soki interest, …nowhere.
