Great news arrives for NUFC ahead of our upcoming trip to Wembley – Spurs’ huge loss is our gain..

Newcastle have been given a huge lift ahead of our game against Spurs on 2nd February, with Harry Kane and Son Heung Min both set to miss out.

It’s often better to focus on ourselves opposed to others, but when both players have been involved in 31 of Tottenham’s 46 league goals this season, I’m sure it’ll be music to the ears of Rafa Benitez!

Kane has an ankle ligament injury sustained against Man Utd and has been ruled out until March, while Son is away on international duty at the Asia Cup.

It’s a game I normally wouldn’t fancy us in, but the thought of Llorente and Lamela starting instead can only fill us with a little more confidence – even if the likes of Alli and Eriksen are still there for Spurs to call on.

This will be our first game after the January window shuts, making it even more essential that we go into February on the up – especially when this suddenly looks like a game we could get something from if we approach it with the right mindset.
