Newcastle make loan bid for Sevilla midfielder – Report

According to Spanish outlet Estadio Deportivo, Newcastle have made a loan move for Sevilla midfielder Ibrahim Amadou.

With the Chronicle recently claiming that an unsettled Isaac Hayden will only be allowed to leave if a replacement is signed, it makes you wonder if Amadou is someone we’re looking at to allow his exit to be sanctioned.

The story claims that the Cameroon-born defensive midfielder hopes to stay and prove himself at Sevilla – having only signed last summer – however he may move in a bid to play more first-team football after starting just a handful of games in Spain this season.

It was reported over the summer that he was set to have a medical at Crystal Palace, but ended up making a move in the region of £9m to Sevilla instead.

Estadio Deportivo also claim that Fulham are interested in signing the Amadou on loan, but it remains to be seen if Sevilla will sanction a move – with him said to have played well during a rare start in their Copa Del Rey quarter final defeat at Barcelona last night.

Time will tell if there’s anything in this latest rumour from Spain, but with us nursing several injury issues in midfield and Hayden STILL wanting out, it would make a lot of sense.
