A brilliant clip of Alan Shearer has emerged following last night’s 2-1 win over Man City at St James’ Park, showing the ex-NUFC number 9 celebrate Matt Ritchie’s 80th minute penalty.
It still hasn’t sunk in, but what a night it was at St James’ Park last night. Many feared a mauling after we went 1-0 down within 30 seconds, but the response that followed was absolutely brilliantly.
Here’s how Shearer reacted as Ritchie fired past Ederson to give us an unlikely lead over the champions:
Shearer didn’t miss many spot kicks in his day, and Ritchie’s making a habit of burying them himself – even if this one did JUST slip under Ederson.
Shearer is full of it and rightly so. These are the sort of nights we’ve been crying out for at St James’ Park this season and, after a string of hopeless home defeats, the players really have stepped up in our last two league games at home.
Let’s hope we can now use this as a real springboard and make sure we pull well clear of that dreaded drop zone.
Left a negative comment about Rafa and Ashley, eating my words and prepared to choke on them if the lads can carry on this performance till the end of season.
Rafa’s tactic’s worked brilliant and you’ve got to think what he can achieve if we get rid of Ashley.
Again Rafa, don’t sign any stupid deal with Ashley, where your tied down for years.
Brilliant.
