According to Sky Sports’ Keith Downie, Rolando Aarons and Achraf Lazaar are BOTH set to join Sheffield Wednesday on loan until the end of the season.
Well, I didn’t see this one coming!
Both have failed to feature in Rafa’s first-team plans for a long time now, with neither appearing to have any chance of making it into our match day squads – never mind our starting 11.
Lazaar had been ‘in talks’ to join Serie A side Cagliari, however it looks like the Moroccan will be joining Aarons in moving to Sheffield between now and the summer:
It’s actually a surprisingly decent move for the pair given how much both of their career have gone of late – although Sheffield Wednesday have been struggling this season, being 17th at present after pushing for promotion in previous years.
Ironically, they could be set to team up with ex-Sunderland manager Steve Bruce, who’s agreed to take charge of the Owls after a break from the game.
