Almiron did something several fans missed - but it convinced me he'll be adored at NUFC..
NUFC new boy Miguel Almiron's electric pace may have caught the eye of most fans last night during his 20 minute cameo at Wolves, but there was one other thing he did that left me so impressed..
In the final few minutes, the Paraguayan went to win the ball with his head while lying on the floor, showing he was prepared to take a kick in the face to protect our 1-0 lead.
Considering it was clear within minutes that he had the sort of pace and direct style to get bums of seats inside St James' Park, it was absolutely brilliant to see that he was fearless in more ways than one and happy to put his body on the line for the team.
Those who knew him well from his time at Atlanta have previously praised his work rate, his exemplary attitude and his focus on being a team player, and this moment was proof of that and more.
Some questioned how he'd cope with the physical demands of Premier League football, but if last night's late cameo was anything to go by, he's certainly not afraid to get stuck in, put his head in where it hurts and give 110% for the team.
Great to see!
