Rafa Benitez has confirmed that both Miguel Almiron AND Jamaal Lascelles will miss tomorrow’s tip to Brighton – however he expects both Fabian Schar and Isaac Hayden to be fit.
The gaffer has revealed that Almiron will miss ‘at least’ three weeks after picking up a hamstring injury in last weekend’s win over Southampton, but skipper Jamaal Lascelles will also sit out of tomorrow’s game with a ‘stomach illness’.
On the plus side, it sounds like Schar and Hayden will be OK to play – with both being pictured in training this week despite limping off in our last game.
Here’s what Rafa’s had to say about the injury situation during his press conference today:
“Almiron is out for at least 3 weeks but we will see how he progresses. He has had his treatment & now he is positive. Lascelles is out of #bhafc game as well with a stomach illness.
We have some knocks, but Schar & Hayden for me should be fit.”
With this in mind, expect tomorrow’s line up to look something like this:
(3-4-2-1): Dubravka – Schar, Fernandez, Dummett – Manquillo, Ki, Hayden, Ritchie – Perez, Atsu – Rondon.
Yedlin and Shelvey will be pushing for starts, with Muto also in contention after Almiron’s injury, however this is the side that looks most likely to start to me.
