Newcastle 'interested' in Championship star after 22-goal season - Report
According to Football Insider, Newcastle are one of several clubs tracking Birmingham City striker Che Adams following his 22-goal season in the Championship.
The piece suggests that Everton are preparing a £15m bid for the 22-year-old, but credits Newcastle with an interest in the former Sheffield United star.
Adams has 22 goals in 44 Championship appearances this season - a tally only been bettered by Norwich's Teemu Pukki (28), Villa's Tammy Abraham (25), Brentford's Neal Maupay (24), Newcastle loanee Dwight Gayle (23 goals for West Brom) and Sheffield Utd's Billy Sharp (23).
He's still young and has shown his clear potential this season, however it must be mentioned that he managed just 12 goals in his last two Championship campaigns, with this appearing to be his breakthrough year from a goalscoring perspective.
A younger alternative to Gayle, but I know who I'd be signing this summer if I had £15m and my two options were Che Adams and Salomon Rondon.
