If it wasn’t bad enough that his Fleetwood Town side ended Sunderland’s automatic promotion hopes on Tuesday night, Joey Barton has now rubbed more salt in their wounds with his latest post on Twitter.
Not only did Barton’s side come from behind and score a 95th minute winner to beat the Mackems, his pre-match promise to send them home ‘crying’ has now come true.
Here’s what the former Newcastle midfielder shared on Twitter yesterday, with Barton saying ‘It’s not easy being a football fan’ (followed by crying faces) in response to this Sunderland Vlogger:
After a strong season which looked likely to see them automatically promoted back to the second tier of English football, Sunderland will now play one of Charlton, Doncaster or Peterborough in the play-off semi finals.
It was Burton who broke their hearts last season, but it’s Barton that’s done it this time around!
Ha ha. So hilarious. In fact, it was about as witty as a stubbed toe. I was at least expecting some sort of comment that would have brought more than a look of “Yeah, and?”
Never mind, I can still smile at the actual clinical way this overpaid thug was torn apart on Question Time. Now, that WAS hilarious.
