According to the Telegraph, Crystal Palace are now the latest team to register an interest in want-away Newcastle midfielder Isaac Hayden.
The 24-year-old has been unsettled for a year now, with him keen to be reunited with his fiancee and daughter down south, and it seems he’ll finally get his move away this summer.
The likes of West Ham, Brighton and Norwich have also been linked with a move for Hayden this summer, but it’s claimed that the club will demand £20m following his impressive rise to form in 2019.
He’s been sensational since the turn of the year, suddenly becoming one of the first names on Benitez’s team sheet, so it will be a real shame to lose him.
A fee of £20m may seem steep given he signed for £2.5m and was linked with a £10m move away following a transfer request last summer, but, based on his form over the past few months, £20m is about right for a young, English player who’s starting to really prove himself at Premier League level.
