Kenedy could be in for a shock at Chelsea if this Maurizio Sarri claim comes true..

Ahead of Kenedy’s return to Chelsea, Maurizio Sarri claims there’s only “two or three” loanees that will feature in his plans next season – suggesting the Brazilian’s time at Stamford Bridge could come to an end this summer.

With Chelsea facing a transfer ban, Kenedy may have hoped he’d get a chance to impress the Italian over pre-season, but it doesn’t sound like he’ll get the chance if Sarri’s latest comments are anything to go by.

Considering Tammy Abraham has scored 27 goals on loan at Villa, Kurt Zouma has starred in the centre of Everton’s defence and Mason Mount has got into double figures from midfield to help Derby secure a play-off spot, it’s fair to say Kenedy won’t be one of the ‘two or three’ players that have impressed him.

This doesn’t even scratch the surface either, with Chelsea having a whopping 46 players out on loan over the 2018/19 season.

In reality, Kenedy must know his latest spell at St James’ Park has been a real disappointment, but the fact Chelsea are said to be demanding a staggering £30m for him this summer could put him in a awkward position.

No one is going to touch him at that price, another loan move could see his career continue to stagnate and he seems highly unlikely to get a chance at Chelsea on current form, so he’s entering an difficult yet potentially defining summer.

Good luck to him, he played a big part in helping us survive over the second half of last season, but his performances this time around haven’t been good enough to earn him another loan deal – never mind a big money permanent move to St James’ Park.

Let’s hope it’s a learning curve for the lad!
