Dubai TV presenter sends NUFC fans into pandemonium with huge takeover claim

Hamed Alharthi – a Dubai TV presenter with over 400,000 followers on Twitter – claims a deal is ‘done’ between Sheik Khaled and Newcastle United.

In response to last night’s claims of a £350m takeover, local reporter and Sky news insisted that a deal was still ‘some way’ off being completed, however Hamed’s latest post suggests otherwise – and it’s sent Newcastle fans into disarray on social media as a result.

Here’s what he’s posted on social media in the last few minutes:

Hamed Alharthi is a TV presenter at Dubai Media Incorporated, having almost half a million followers on Twitter, however it remains to be seen if these claims from the Middle-East are entirely accurate.

Everything in the Middle-East pointing towards it being done, but I won’t hold my breath until we hear conformation from the club.

We’ve had our fingers burnt and our hopes dashed too many times to get completely carried away – even if things do feel a little different this time around.

  1. Black and white striped ‘thawb’s’ will be the new must have in the stands and in toon!

  2. It’s all very convenient with rafa currently in negotiations over a new deal Ashley done the same thing before the wolves planned boycott last December. Why has this all leaked out now without any commitments from anyone? Smells fishy to me Mike Ashley fishy.

  3. I am usually one of those positive supporters of NUFC, but after nearly 3 yrs of these stories of a takeover, I have become very cynical about the whole situation.
Every year we are faced with these rumours around the each transfer window, money for manager, takeover, big players on the radar then just as players return a flurry of activity of signing players on loan or a cheap foreign player nobody has heard of the gaffer doesn’t want.
Along with thousands of other connected with the Toon I HOPE this is true but until those horrid Sports Direct sign are pulled down and Rafa is seen shaking hands with any new owners, I’ll not hold my breath!

  5. How many transfer windows in a row now ? Very convenient to come out now so we can all blow smoke up each other about this then bang deal falls through Rafa leaves and window slams shut ! As the club did all it could to make a smooth transition for new owner ! As for Rafa and window well it was all the uncertainty around the club ! Then back to normal

So Ashley’s been really clever on this one, getting a Sheikh, Sheikhs office, Dubai TV presenter, the Sun and the Daily Mail all spreading his sh!te.

Either that or he’s in the process of selling.

By the way, Ashley did the Magpie group a favour with the Wolves “boycott”. It would have been very embarrassing to go ahead and show everyone what failure the boycott was going to be.
You have to wonder why another one wasn’t organised once we were safe.

  7. Its very unlikely that this presenter knows anymore than we do – he’s just trying to suck up to an important Royal family member.

All he’s done is read the Sun
