Sky Sports reporter makes exciting claim about Sheikh Khaled’s plans for NUFC

Sky Sports’ Pete Graves says a source close to Sheikh Khaled has told him that the potential new NUFC owner has ‘exciting’ plans – with him set to invest ‘heavily’ in the ‘club and city’ if his takeover attempt is successful.

This comes after the Bin Zayed group released a statement revealing that they had not only held discussions with Mike Ashley but AGREED terms to buy the club – stating that they hoped to complete the deal as soon as possible.

This, combined with the fact the club have confirmed their statement is genuine, has been described as a ‘major breakthrough’ by Sky Sports’ Pete Graves, but a deal isn’t done yet – meaning there should be some element of caution amongst us NUFC fans.

Nevertheless, here’s what Pete Graves had to say about the group, suggesting they plan to invest heavily if a takeover does go through:

“Statement from Bin Zayed group being stood up by #nufc officials is clearly a MAJOR breakthrough. Many will only believe it when its “official” and that is wise in my opinion. But told by a source that group intend to invest heavily in club and City. Could be hugely exciting”

The estimated family net worth of Sheikh Khaled, the half-brother of Man City’s owner Sheikh Mansour, is £150bn – showing just how much money would be arriving into St James’ Park if this deal goes through.

Exciting times for the club AND the city could be on the horizon, but a deal is NOT done yet, with some suggesting that Newcastle are still awaiting ‘proof of funds’.

Let’s hope this is third time lucky, after Staveley and Kenyon bids fell short, with the thought of another failed takeover attempt being unbearable at this stage – especially when this one could be a game changer.

  1. Just Hope everything goes ahead of what’s been said so far so good. Can only give Mike Ashley a little bit of credit were its due He told us he would only sell to someone who can take the Club to the next level ONE CITY ONE CLUB THERES ONLY ONE NEWCASTLE UNITED

  2. I’m sure knowing Ashley there is a chance that this could go wrong but for such a huge figure as this guy and his group to make an official statement and NUFC to officially confirm it there sounds like more of a chance than the other bids that this could go through. Would love it if it does but till I see the new owner in a Newcastle shirt with the keys to st James I won’t believe it

  3. let’s not count our chickens just yet despite all the media hype. The FCB and his cronies are known to set up smokescreens and pull out of things.Until the ”sale” is officially confirmed by the FCB himself/NUFC it’s business as normal-we’ve been down this road too many times

  4. What a bank holiday weekend.first the laughing stocks pathetic Wembley appearance.then this.happy days for the mags.

  5. As a Man City supporter, I would like to personally welcome NUFC to “the family.” It’s great to have a sibling club in the PL and as someone who has admired Newcastle United since the days of Sir Bobby, it’s fantastic that this particular club is finally getting the owner it deserves. You lot have suffered so long (like we did!) but now you’ve won the lottery and it’s time to see you back in the upper echelon. Onwards and upwards!

  6. Fans deserve it the city deserves it all respect to man city supporters but be careful cos we coming for ya htl

ASHLEY and his minnions are FULL OF SHIT.

  8. I would love to see this deal go thro just to get rid of Ashley. He’s nearly killed off our club with his austerity measures. Yet he’s taken millions without investing much at all. Personally I doubt this deal will go thro because the fat ****** will come out with some **** about them failing this or it wasn’t the best deal for the club or better still he’s decided to up the price. Rafa will sign a new deal thinking he’s about to get the investment that he’s always wanted then Ashley will pull the plug and we will be in the same position as always
