Reporter who leaked £350m takeover 'exclusive' responds to fans on Twitter - He's adamant
A week after his big story in The Sun claiming Sheikh Khaled looked set to seal a £350m takeover, Justin Allen has responded to Newcastle fans on Twitter asking just what on earth's going on.
Scepticism is to be expected. We're over a week on from his big breaking news from the Sunday before last, yet the situation seems no clearer - despite two statements from the BZG.
That said, Allen INSISTS that what he reported is true, telling curious Newcastle fans that Ashley has agreed to sell the club for £350m, claiming contracts have been signed and paperwork sent to the Premier League.
See his Twitter responses below, with Newcastle fans demanding answers over a week on from his big takeover reveal:
So, despite a week of claims, contradictions and counter-claims, Allen still insists that several things are in place and we're heading for a takeover.
One thing he points out in his responses to Newcastle fans is that there's been absolutely no denial of these claims from Mike Ashley or the club itself.
I commented on this myself in a recent article, and I think this is pretty key in all of this.
Maybe the BZG are a little ahead of themselves in terms of how adamant they are that a deal is imminent, but Allen makes a good point "Trust me, they publicly shoot down things that are not true!".
