Club set to make £3m loss as NUFC flop closes in on ‘€2m’ move – Three-year deal reported

According to MARCA, Joselu is closing in on a £1.75m (€2m) move to La Liga side Alavés.

Given we paid £5m to sign the striker from Stoke City in August 2017, it looks like the club will be happy to cut their losses and accept a loss of over £3m on this one.

The Spanish outlet also claims that the 29-year-old looks set to sign a THREE-year-deal with Alaves – a decent contract for a player nearing his 30’s and what looks to be a pretty perfect move back to his homeland for 6ft 3′ striker.

It has been claimed by the Shields Gazette today that Joselu’s exit will only be sanctioned once Rafa’s future is sorted, however I can’t see why anyone would stand in his way here.

He’s not going to be in our first-team plans next season – no matter who’s in charge – and a fee just shy of £2m seems about fair given how poor he’s been over the past two seasons.
