Kevin Mbabu’s career continues to go from strength to strength following his move away from St James’ Park two years ago.
Not only has the 24-year-old just sealed a £8m move to Wolfsburg – a Bundesliga side set to compete in the Europa League next season – he’s now a regular in the Swiss national side and has just been named in UEFA’s ‘team of the tournament’ following their run to the semi-final of the Nations League.

It will forever remain a bit of a mystery as to why Rafa Benitez let him go a few years ago. After all, it’s not like he looked out of place in the odd game he played at senior level.
