Bin Zayed Group issue firm response after being probed by Dubai-based presenter – A new approach?

The Bin Zayed Group have issued a firm ‘no comment’ when Peter Redding – the Sports Presenter for UAE station ‘Capital Radio’ – asked if a takeover was on or off yesterday.

Peter is a exiled Geordie working for Capital Radio UAE – an english language station based in Dubai, and, as he’s shared on Twitter, he took it upon himself to call the office of Midhat Kidwai – the managing director of the Bin Zayed Group.

The ‘no comment’ response isn’t out of the ordinary given they’ve already set their stall out in previous statements, however their silence over the past few weeks has been noticeable, suggesting a potential new approach to keep the deal slightly more private – something Mike Ashley may well prefer.

Here’s what Redding shared when contacting the Kidwai’s office yesterday:

“I dont like to post without hearing first hand info from BZG. Spoken with the office of Midhat Kidwai this morning, and I was given a firm no comment,”

He continued: “When I pushed if it was on or off, no comment. As soon as there is an update there will be a statement.”

Also, Peter’s above tweet also suggests that any ‘updates’ on the proposed takeover will only come via an official statement.

Let’s keep everything crossed that their next one is confirmation that a deal is in the pipeline and all but done – and not them conceding it’s the third takeover ‘bid’ in a row to fall flat.

We live in hope – but time’s running out if they’re serious about keeping Benitez and making their mark this summer.

  1. How many stories can be fabricated by “no comment”.
Ashley out and it’s only a matter of time, don’t gamble on getting a season ticket if the sheikhover happens as we will sell out quickly.

Fat man won’t win this time.

  3. If you are a fan of the club of course renew your season tickets, hopefully this Ashley/Benitez nonsense ends after the takeover and a fresh start for all, without all these inhouse political arguments splitting the fans by using the manager against the owner, I think if we all admitted we are sick of the whole saga.
We can then all look forward to going to the match with friends and family and enjoy the day again, like our grandfathers and fathers before us did,
