Official pictures emerge of NUFC’s new kit for the 2019/20 – But one thing doesn’t add up..

The club have finally revealed our new kit for the 2019/20 season – and, as ever, it’s provoked a very mixed reaction online.

Several ‘leaked’ images have been shared over the past few months and, although this kit is VERY similar to those spread on social media, I feel the below kit does look smarter than I expected it to be.

There’s one thing that really doesn’t add up, however. The club’s big claim following it’s release is that it’s ‘inspired’ by the heroes of 1969 – yet the collar is the ONLY thing that resembles that old kit!

See the club’s official announcement video below – and notice how different the 1969 kit is to this 2019 one:

It’s also worth mentioning that the red numbers look set to remain – something which may go down well with fans:

Here’s some comments from fans on social media in response to the club’s official announcement:

“Not a fan of the centre alignment of the badge and logo, we’ve been there before (1997) and it wasn’t popular.’

“Kits nice but ruined by the big fat fun88 logo!”

“Literally nothing like the heroes of 1969.”

“Only #NUFC could use the fact that they haven’t won silverware in 50 years to market a strip …while the club has an absent owner, no manager and no centre forward. And they’ve put up season ticket prices by 25% in two years.”

“I’ll pre order when we have answers on the future of the club”

“I actually think it looks nice – but there’s no way I can get excited about anything linked to the club at the minute.

“Got every home away third shirt since 1993 And I refuse to buy this until we get some feedback from the club.”

“£95 for the player issue shirt. £65 for the standard shirt. Laughable.”
