Bin Zayed Group left ‘amazed’ – Statement to come in a ‘couple of days’ – Dubai-based reporter

According to Dubai-based presenter Peter Redding, the Bin Zayed Group have been left ‘amazed’ by the amount of support from Newcastle fans.

Redding – a Sports journalist at Dubai-based station ‘Capital Radio’ – claims to have been in regular contact with the group over the past few weeks and believes a new statement will be released this week.

Here’s what he shared on Twitter earlier today:

This comes after he said the following on Monday, claiming that a statement would be on its way in the ‘next few days’ after speaking to someone from the Bin Zayed Group:

I can’t lie, I struggle to see a takeover going through when the club have now binned off their two biggest assets (Benitez and Perez), but I do wonder if the talks have dragged because the price being paid has been re-negotiated following Rafa’s exit and Perez’s seemingly imminent sale?

I’m clutching at straws here and am living in hope, with so much of the news emerging from the club over the past week being soul destroying to put it mildly.

Let’s hope (and pray) that this statement shares some good news – although I can’t help but fear it may be to announce that they were unable to complete a deal in the timeframe mentioned in their initial two statements.

  1. Perez had a buyout clause so there must be something in the agreement for circumstance s like that, no buyout anyway so wtf does it matter

  2. This guy is talking $hite. If a takeover can collapse coz Rafa and Perez have gone (Perez almost) – it’s hardly the end of the world is it?!.

If he also thinks they will look to renegotiate the price coz they are gone – that’s pi$$ing about and I wouldn’t entertain it – so Ashley certainly won’t.

If either of those are true, then I’d fear BZG is WOT (wasting our time!!)

  3. If there is any chance of a takeover why is fcb looking for new manager, cashley couldn’t lie straight in bed. Boycott boycott boycott ashleyoot

  4. I’ll be amazed if we can recover from this to have a half decent season even if the sale of the club was going through. If Ashley stays, well, I’m not really sure what outcome I want from the season as he will benefit from prem survival and we will be back on the merry go round of rumours next year. I do know one thing, the press have been their usual bottom feeder best with the same old stories being regurgitated day after day with the only update being the title of the report. Then we have the Ashley supporting Talk Sport and Sky pundits spewing their bile towards us backed up by ill informed nonsense from those odious ex pro’s on the Ashley payroll that are allowed to fabricate his defence without being questioned by anyone on our side in the know.

  6. Personally I think there’s no chance of a take over. Cashely just needs a publicity stunt for his ailing empire.

  7. Other than whether bin zayed group have a view on perez as a player his sale should only affect their view of the value of the club relative to the notional value they had put on him as a player as any income would become an asset of NUFC i.e. not Ashley, any cash he gets out would be part of the overall deal

Again with Benitez leaving although very disappointing from a fans point of view, if there is a takeover going through they may have a view on who they would like as a manager and would be in dialogue with NUFC to approve any appointment

Whether there is a take over at all is a whole different matter…..
