Man Utd now ‘weighing up’ HUGE bid for Sean Longstaff – Worrying report

According to the Chronicle, Manchester United are now ‘weighing up’ a huge £50m bid for Sean Longstaff.

This comes just a few days on from Sky Sports claims that Newcastle would be holding out for £50m plus for the midfielder.

It was once claimed that the 21-year-old was deemed ‘not for sale’, but we all know how Mike Ashley works. Every player has a value and he will not hesitate to sell up if big money comes his way (see Andy Carroll!).

Here’s what Raga Benitez has had to say about the local lad when asked about his time on Tyneside in China this week:

“In particular, Sean was fantastic for us.

“Since our last pre-season in Ireland, we talked about his quality and attitude.

“When he had his chance, he grabbed it with both hands. He has a great future.”

A top young player who could have a bright future on Tyneside, however I’m not sure you could blame him if he did leave for Old Trafford given the state of this club right now.

Man Utd are said to be ‘preparing a bid’, so let’s hope their offer falls way short of our alleged asking price, with us likely to be in real trouble if they come in with anything close to £50m.

  1. Right now Longstaff is a luxury we cant afford if a bid of 50m comes in. If….and its a big IF…Ashley does give the new manager 60m plus all the incoming money from sales then Id defo say we could replace Longstaff and Perez for 140m.

With Hayden and Shelvey both possible outgoings at around 15m each aswel I dont see how a decent manager can complain at what he will have to spend tbh.

    Ha ha ha ha!
    Hilarious!

    1. A holding midfielder is a luxury? God knows what you’d call a half decent striker.
    2. The new manager will be lucky to get a tenth of the figure you quoted.
