Sky Sports host deletes tweet after posting controversial Steve Bruce claims – What a mess..

Sky Sports’ Pete Graves has posted a controversial tweet attempting to defend the potential appointment of Steve Bruce – only to delete it 2 minutes later.

After it was confirmed an ‘official approach’ was incoming and that Bruce was Ashley’s ‘no.1’ target Graves – a Geordie who presents on Sky Sports News – attempted to offer an ‘alternate perspective’ in reaction to the news – but it didn’t go down well at all.

Here’s what he said, with him deleting the tweet just moments later after receiving huge backlash from Newcastle fans:

“‘If’ Bruce gets job, fans should know Sir Bobby recommended him numerous time for job. He’s also best friends with Shearer so could build bridges there?

“Fans anger should 100% NOT be aimed at Bruce (a NUFC fan) that’s for sure.

“Don’t hammer me, just an alternate opinion”

Sir Bobby may have recommended him at one stage, but that was before he became a Championship manager who happily took the Sunderland job a few years ago.

As for the Shearer link, why on earth would we want to ‘build bridges’ in this poisonous Mike Ashley era?

I do understand and agree that anger from fans should not be aimed solely at Bruce and instead Mike Ashley, however it’s hard to get away from the fact he must be coming in on a ‘yes man’ basis if he’s happy to work under this pitiful regime.

  1. I thought this was a joke yesterday I really did, On what grounds on this green earth would qualify Steve Bruce for the nufc job? Is Mike Ashley fcuking serious or what, he couldn’t pick worse if he was trying. Its almost a declaration of war by Ashley. Bet Sean Longstaff, Schar, Lejune and Dubravka were all on to their agents 1st thing this morning.

  2. Whoever comes in as manager should not receive abuse from fans. Give the man a chance, whoever it is. It’s not the managers fault, it’s Mike Ashleys

  3. Fuckoff Dave, he’s ****e and why do we want a manager that’s going to scuttle up the arse of the fcb , an embarrassing job for any manager, taking word from that **** who knows ****all about football

  4. I’m sick of this BS! It really doesn’t matter who the manager is going to be as he will most likely just be keeping the seat warm for someone else.

For the life of me I don’t understand why the Premier League has not stepped in and forced Ashley out as owner, or force him to spend and build the club. They are sitting by and watching a great club with a storied history crumble.

I read every article every day hoping the team but nothing changes. Enough is enough…..Force this disgraceful owner out of Football!!!

  5. Good riddance sb when you finally get the magpies job.
    (Thieving magpies )
Take em down stevie whilst the Wednesday with yet another manager , not a part time nuisances. O thanks for the cash suckered. Wawaw
