Sky Sports spot Steve Bruce leaving Sheffield Wednesday - Next stop St James' Park
As revealed by Keith Downie, Sky Sports colleague Richard Graves has spotted Steve Bruce leaving Hillsborough in a 'chauffeur-driven car' this lunchtime.
With several reporters now describing his move to Newcastle United as 'imminent', it looks like his net stop will be St James' Park, with Sky claiming that we are now set to offer him the manager's job on Tyneside.
It was reported in the Times earlier today that Bruce's compensation fee was 'over £5m', with them stating that Sheffield Wednesday chief Dejphon Chansiri was ‘preparing to play hardball’, however it seems like Newcastle are closing in on his appointment.
The Telegraph have stated that he'll be appointed by the weekend 'barring any last-ditch hitches', with it seeming like the club are determined to get a new man in place before the squad travel to China on Sunday.
To think Lee Charnley spent the last few weeks 'scouring Europe' and 'speaking to agents'...only to end up with Steve Bruce.
