Sky Sports – New club ‘agrees deal’ to sign Salomon Rondon from West Brom

According to Sky Sports, Dalian Yifang have now agreed a deal to sign Salomon Rondon – with the ex-NUFC striker set to be reunited with Rafa Benitez.

This comes from Sky duo Keith Downie and Lyall Thomas, who claim that the Venezuelan is now discussing personal terms with the Chinese Super League side after Dalian Yifang struck a deal with West Brom.

The likelihood is that they agreed to pay his £16.5m release clause – a deal we should’ve been all over given he bagged an impressive 12 goals and 7 assists.

It’s quite laughable that we haven’t gone back in for our current player of the season, with this showing just how out of touch Mike Ashley and his cronies are when it comes to footballing decisions.

That said, I’m pretty sure Rondon’s head would’ve been turned after we failed to keep Rafa Benitez at the club – and he may not be the only one.

A small silver lining is the fact we won’t have to see him scoring goals for Wolves or West Ham (two clubs that were keen) if he does complete a move to China.

Let’s hope his *potential* replacement Joelinton can do the business should he arrive before August 8th.

  1. You can’t seriously believe the tub of lard is going to pay 36 million for a player when it’s took him all these years to break the Owen transfer record…. Like the take over its not happening and never was more lies from the fat git… As for the takeover it’s all went very quiet on that front… BOYCOTT SJP until he’s gone
