‘Group statement

‘Nine Newcastle United supporter groups, which are calling on fans to boycott the club’s first game of the season, against Arsenal – have issued a joint statement in response to the appointment of Steve Bruce as manager.

‘Steve Bruce is an unambitious appointment by an unambitious owner. To go from a world-class manager in Rafa Benitez, who brought stability and unity to the club to Steve Bruce – who frankly wouldn’t get a job at any other Premier League side right now – in the space of six weeks is beyond disappointing.

‘Most Premier League clubs look to the continent or lower divisions for young, promising, forward-thinking managers in the mould of Pochettino, Gracia and Santo – who bring a new brand of football to a highly-competitive league. In Bruce, Mike Ashley has opted for a manager who has been relegated from the league numerous times – he isn’t even a safe pair of hands.

‘Bruce’s appointment is testament to Ashley’s continued mismanagement of Newcastle United Football Club, which has been the hallmark of his tenure.

‘It’s now time for him to sell the club to a party that genuinely wants to take the club forward.’

  1. Watching the game and we are 3 down could be a regular siting this season should any muppets go to the games

Wolves are so far ahead of this Newcastle team (yes it’s only a friendly) but we don’t have a strong line up no settled management and no new faces

This could end up 5 or 6

  2. And we have started well in Asia cup 0-2 Colback, Clarke, Lazar in starting line up, FFS it maybe pre-season but we need to sign badly ASHLEY CON ASHLEY OUT BOYCOTT Arsenal!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  3. We don’t need any new signings, great performance by the lads so far, the current squad look united are playing some great football and look dangerous in attack, the midfield look to have complete control of this game, really excited about the upcoming season ?

  4. Why does everyone talking ****e. They can all see mike Ashley destroying our club. Spending money on shops than our club. He should never been able to buy a club like Newcastle simple..!

  5. how many times would numerous relegations from the premier league be ?

Give the man a chance this is becoming boring, why do we always play the poor me poor me card always the victim its becoming tiresome, and laughable

  6. Why protest in Newcastle when no one outside Newcastle either see’s it, or has any interest.
Need to protest by not turning up to the games on Sky to show the world..
During these Sky games the broadcaster will no doubt try and blank out the terraces but if empty they have no choice.
It has now become proven without doubt that Ashley has had good offers for the club from good buyers but chooses to not sell, and he clearly lies to the Manager, staff etc about his intentions that are no more than an advertising board for SD, and taking as much cash out of NUFC as he can.
Watching the team in China with SD in chinese on the shirt proves this point, and to be honest pleased we are being humped by a bang average Wolves team……….Ashley Out..

  7. Unfortunately Ashley won’t care. He has his yes man/apologist in place now and knows that the fans will take their frustration and hate out on those sitting in the dugout every week. If things go really bad then he will just through Bruce under the bus as being the cause of the problem. It’s wash, rinse, repeat. Only the really desperate, those will no morals or the mentally insane would want to work under that tyrant.

The only way to get rid of the parasite is stop feeding him what he craves – revenue and that means staying away until he goes. But as long as there are divisions between fans around boycotting or not and 30000 still turn up at home games providing him with revenue then I’m afraid he will be around. Continuing to do the same thing and expecting a different result just isn’t going to work.

  8. It just gets worse and worse, fcb please just f__k off and let someone else give us some hope, didn’t even back the world class manager we had, no signings, mediocre head coach, it’s getting to the point now the only place I want to read about you is in the obituary pages!!!! Boycott boycott boycott ashleyoot

  9. We’ve put up with that fat parasitic piece of turd for 12 years and now have given up any hope we might get rid of it,my wife keeps askin why I’ve not renewed me and my sons season tickets as she likes that I’m out all day every other Saturday ,can’t think why,Ashley will die one day just hope it’s very soon so he can’t destroy anything else
