Hoffenheim’s new manager Alfred Schreuder has confirmed that Joelinton is set to join Newcastle United, with him confessing that the striker is leaving the club.
Although claims he was set to complete a move on Thursday appear to have been slightly premature, it looks like the Brazilian’s arrival really is imminent now, with Goal’s Ronan Murphy stating that he’s already passed his medical and will sign officially in the next 24 hours:
Here’s what Hoffenheim’s new head coach has had to say when Kicker asked about the 22-year-old’s potential move to Newcastle:
“Of course.
“It’s a pity he’s leaving.”
The only thing that is not yet clear is the fee we look set to pay, with some outlets saying £36m and others suggesting it could be as much as £48m!
Here’s what the Chronicle’s Mark Douglas had to say about the deal prior to the Hoffenheim manager’s latest admission:
Where did this reported medical take place as no pictures of him arriving in Newcastle or China have been posted. Could this still turn out to be we couldn’t get him over the line?
