?? Watch Salomon Rondon score during dramatic debut for Rafa Benitez’s Dalian Yifang

It didn’t take long for Salomon Rondon to get off the mark for new club Dalian Yifang, with him scoring on his debut in a dramatic 3-3 draw against Tianjin Teda today.

Rondon completed a £16.5m move to China just yesterday – a move that saw him reunited with Rafa Benitez – and he scored the following 84th minute goal to secure a point for his new side:

Considering he’s said to be earning £250,000 per week at Dalian, they’ll be hoping this is the first of many goals from the big Venezuelan this season!

The game featured two Yannick Carrasco goals, a red card for Dalian’s Qin Sheng, a late penalty and an even later equaliser for Salomon Rondon, leaving both teams to settle for a point in the six-goal thriller in Tianjin’s 54,000 seater stadium.

This result marked Rafa Benitez’s fourth game at the club, with him overseeing 3-1 and 3-2 wins, a 4-1 defeat to Guangzhou Evergrande FC and this 3-3 draw against Tianjin Teda.

  1. Sorry but articles like this make me laugh.

Do you still check the Facebook pages of your ex girlfriends as well??? ?

Who gives a $hit?! He’s not our manager anymore, he’s not a Newcastle player anymore – and I don’t believe for a second you’re that interested in Chinese football!!

    Time to move on.

I don’t have an ex-girlfriend so can’t answer that question, BUT I think most people would check to see how they’re getting on if they loved them….and I loved both Rondon and Rafa!

There won’t be a running commentary on both all season, but I don’t think there’s anything wrong with the odd piece on them – especially when fans are clearly very interested in both given how big they were for us just a few months ago.

  3. Olly – I’m not trying to offend you with the ex girlfriend comment mate – it’s just the closest example I could think of.

I can’t say I ‘loved’ either – but then that level of emotion for any person linked to NUFC ended with Sir Bobby. Big Al came close. But my love is for the club.

I’m grateful to Rafa and Rondon for their services to our club, and wish them well.

But once they leave NUFC, it’s out of sight out of mind for me.

😆 Don’t worry mate, I took no offence!

Fair play mate, you make a valid point and I know there’s plenty NUFC fans who’ll say the same in response to these sort of articles.

That said, there are so many who still seem very interested in ex-Mags.
