?️ Joelinton & Steve Bruce speak out following the Brazilian’s club record move from Hoffenheim

Joelinton has spoken out after completing a ‘club record’ move to Newcastle United from Hoffenheim in the last few moments.

The Brazilian has signed a SIX-year deal and has been handed the number 9 shirt, arriving for a fee in the region of £35-£40m according to reports.

Here’s what he’s had to say to NUFC.co.uk since the move was announced:

“I’m really happy to be here,”

“I know it’s a large investment that the club has made in me, and that comes with a huge responsibility.”

“I’m highly motivated and hope to give back on the pitch.”

Here’s what Steve Bruce has had to say after the 22-year-old’s arrival was confirmed by the club:

“The kid’s got an exciting time ahead of him. He’s a smashing young player and we’re obviously delighted to get him.

It’s been going on for a little bit now, so to get him is great for everybody.

“He’s got everything that a modern-day player wants. He’s big, strong and athletic, and of course he’s got age on his side too which is vitally important.

“He’s learned the history and wanted it (the number nine shirt), and that’s always a big shirt to fill. But in his eyes, it was ‘bring it on – it’s what I’m here for’.

He’s risen to that challenge, and I’m sure he will be a big, big favourite of the supporters. He’s got an incredible work-rate about him, he’s got a really good humility about him, and all the attributes a top striker needs.”

Welcome to the Toon, Joelinton!

  1. ? a six year deal by the way.

How many people claimed this wouldn’t come off coz he wanted a 3yr deal and we wanted him to sign a 4yr deal.

Ashley must have tricked him with 2 three year deals ?

  2. Well Brucie, Paul Anka says:

“You’re having my baby. What a lovely way of saying how much you love me. Your’e having my baby…”

  3. Despite all the negatives surrounding the toon at the moment I think this is a positive to be welcomed. He looks like a good player, good with both feet and in the air. Works hard for the team and holds the ball up well from what I have seen. Let’s hope he can do it in the premier league. However, this signing is still not enough to replace Rondon and Perez so there needs to be more . Is Gayle going to be given a chance at this level or is he to be sold or loaned out again? How reliable is Muto? I would be happier with one more striker.
