Newcastle United have confirmed the signing of Joelinton, with the Brazilian attacker finally completing a move from Hoffenheim today
The 22-year-old has been handed a SIX-year contract at the club and has also been handed the famous number 9 shirt.
A ‘record fee’ in the region of £40m has been reported by Sky – an amount that’s expected to be paid in instalments over the next couple of years – however the club are describing it to be ‘undisclosed record fee’.
Here’s the announcement videos released by the club in the last few moments, confirming his arrival at the club:
The 22-year-old bagged 11 goals and 9 assists in Germany last season and has been described as one of the Bundesliga’s brightest talents.
He stands 6ft 1′ tall and is known for his versatility in attack, being big enough to operate as a central striker, but also possessing the skill and ball-carrying ability to play as a number 10 or winger.
Hopefully this is the first of many deals the club get ‘over the line’ between now and August 8th, with several signings still needed over the next 16 days.
For now though, welcome to the Toon, Joelinton!
I’ve noticed in the video sports direct signs were shown more than Newcastle United funny that!!
