According to Football Insider’s latest ‘exclusive’, Newcastle will announce the signing of former Chelsea midfielder Kyle Scott on a two-year deal today.
While the 21-year-old’s move to St James’ Park does seem to be on the cards, with him being released at Stamford Bridge earlier this summer, I take this with a pinch of salt from Football Insider.
Why? Because the same outlet claimed a big ‘exclusive’ almost two weeks ago stating his arrival on a free was all set to go through ‘in the next 48 hours’.
Scott is a versatile midfielder who’s bagged 2 goals and 8 assists in 41 appearances for Chelsea’s U-23’s, with him being a USA U-20 international who spent last season on loan with Dutch side Telstar.
His arrival would be deemed our second signing of the summer, however I’d assume he’d be brought in to feature at U-23 level with an eye on him being promoted to the senior squad if he impressed.
