According to an ‘exclusive’ from the Chronicle’s Lee Ryder, Andy Carroll is keen to complete a return to Newcastle United.
The 30-year-old was released by West Ham over the summer, making him a free agent, and the Chronicle claim that he’s now been ‘given the green light to join a new club’ after a specialist confirmed he’d made a ‘full recovery’ following ankle surgery.
This comes almost a week on from widespread reports confirming Steve Bruce’s interest in bringing the 6ft 4′ forward back to St James’ Park – and Ryder claims that his ‘fitness fears’ have now been allayed considerably after hearing he’s recovered well from going under the knife.
That said, you would think the club would be looking at handing him a trial initially (so he can prove his fitness), followed by a low salary which included ‘pay as you play’ incentives.
Would you take him back?
He is a serious handful when on the pitch… there lies the problem. Getting him out the sick bay.

I’d 100% have Andy Carroll on a pay as you play contract. I think any club would top 4 included. However he’d be competing against Joelinton even when he’s fit and might not get a game so I doubt he’d accept unless we are the only offer on the table.
