According to Sky Sports’ Keith Downie, Newcastle United are ‘back in’ for PSG left-back Stanely N’soki – but a move for Hull’s Jarrod Bowen has been described as a ‘non starter for now’.
Regarding N’Soki, it was reported this morning that we’d made a £7m bid for the 20-year-old talent, however it looks like this will be rejected, with Downie stating below that PSG value him at £12m:
As for Bowen, Sky’s north-east reporter describes that deal as a ‘non starter…for now’, with Lee Ryder adding to this in the last few moments by confirming that we are ‘refusing’ to pay Hull’s £20m asking price.
There is a theme here – we’re not paying the going rates – but that is something we’re going to have to accept now we’ve left the vast majority of our summer transfer business to the last minute!
The same issue has been had in our pursuit of Allan Saint-Maximin, with it being reported that we’ve made £14m and £16m bids – two offers that fall comfortably below Nice’s alleged asking price of £18-£20m.
