Newcastle may have agreed a £10m fee for Stanley N’Soki, however the latest update on the PSG defender suggests a deal is not as close as some believed.
It was stated by French outlet RMC that the 20-year-old was set to discuss personal terms with the club after a fee was agreed, but he has now been named in PSG’s squad for tomorrow’s friendly against Sydney FC in the International Super Cup.
While this does nothing to suggest a deal won’t eventually go through, it highlights that we still have work to do to bring the left-back to St James’ Park, with him now expected to feature in Thomas Tuchel’s pre-season clash in China on Tuesday.
On a positive note, the Chronicle insist that he’s keen to make the move to St James’ Parl and the fact we’ve agreed a fee with PSG (£10m plus sell on percentage clause of 20%) stands us in good stead, but, just like Saint Maximin (who played in Nice’s friendly vs Cardiff over the weekend), his involvement in PSG’s latest game suggests nothing is imminent just yet.
With at LEAST three signings needed and just 11 days left to do business, it’s time we got our skates on!
