Various NUFC fan groups have noticed the release of the Daily Mail article where the current, infamous custodian of Newcastle United is interviewed by one of his favoured media partners regarding his position as owner of our club.

Prior to release, collectively, we all waited with the expectancy of what would ensue. Namely, the usual proclamations of how Mike Ashley is trying to sell to buyers who don’t have the financial resource and/or aren’t suitable to purchase our club. This is often followed by how the club will spend what it generates, live within it’s means and continue to be a sustainable multi-year project.

Undoubtedly, the expectancy was also that this would inevitably cast dispersions on the previous manager who was also the beacon of light that many Newcastle fans followed. Despite being spared the former, the latter was provided, right on cue.

No individual is bigger than our club, that we agree on, but to actively allow such a pivotal person to leave the club, only to replace him with an inadequate appointment is simply unacceptable. This is not a reflection on Steve Bruce’s abilities but rather an evaluation of Benitez’s capability. So who do we trust? A man who has been proven a liar in court by Keegan for being guilty of misleading his customers (the fans) for his own gains or our ray of light, Rafa…

Whilst many may call us it, or think it – we are not mugs and we won’t be treated as such. That is why #BoycottArsenal has and will continue to be pushed and also the corresponding #SupportOurToon campaign. We all, as supporters of Newcastle United have continued to suffer the strangle hold of Mr Ashley’s tat emporium over our club. We won’t have it over our city.

We have reason to believe he has had involvement in the purchasing of land to the South of St James’ Park. He is already destroying our football club and he is monopolising the high street so that his position in our shopping centres becomes untouchable. Even today, we noted that S***** D***** is potentially subject to a £605m as a result of taxation bills. Recently, the share price has fallen. We suspect this is largely down to the inadequate way that Ashley treats both his employees and his customers.

We simply cannot allow this to continue in and at Newcastle. The charges he was found guilty of in court have since been repeated numerous times without repercussions. No matter how expensive the assets that he purchases are and looks to sell on at a profit, we must not allow this negligent, ignorant and disgusting period of our great clubs history to continue.

Cracks can no longer be papered over. He is one man, we are a city.
