Joelinton has bagged his first goal for Newcastle United in tonight’s pre-season friendly with Hibernian.
As you can see via the clip below, the Brazilian latched on to an inch perfect cross from Javier Manquillo and guided a left-footed volley across the goal and into the bottom corner:
A much needed early settler for our new £40m man and a very nice finish too, with him also showing some impressive touches, turns, bursts of pace and movement in the opening stages too.
As things stand the game is 2-1 to Newcastle, with Sean Longstaff’s 25-yard drive into the bottom corner and Joelinton’s strike overturning Stevie Mallan’s 11-minute opener for Hibernian.
The 22-year-old received a knock to his achilles in the final stages of the first half but managed to shake it off, however Matt Ritchie was not so lucky, with him being forced off with an injury within the first 10 minutes of tonight’s game.
Great to see the new man not only scoring but well and truly looking the part in his first start for Newcastle United!
