Sky Sports – NUFC ‘on the verge’ of 2nd signing – Fee revealed & medical plans announced

Sky Sports’ Keith Downie has confirmed that Newcastle are ‘on the verge’ of sealing a deal to sign Allan Saint-Maximin.

He reveals that an initial fee of £16.5m rising to £20m is all but agreed, with the two clubs now finalising the ‘finer details’ of the deal.

Sky’s north-east reporter also claims that the 22-year-old Frenchman is planning to travel to Tyneside over the weekend to complete his medical:

This comes after RMC reported earlier on Thursday that we had agreed a 18m euro (£16.5m) deal PLUS ‘considerable bonuses’ to sign the winger, also claiming that he would sign a 6-year deal at St James’ Park.

It’s not done just yet, but this update from Sky Sports suggests that, after weeks of waiting, this move really might be imminent now.

  1. Can’t help but feel we are missing out not going for Harry Wilson from Liverpool for £20/25 mil. Think he would be a better buy than Saint-Maxi from Nice for the same money. Saint-Maxi may still be a good buy but Wilson looks to have a left foot like Bale. £25 mil is a good deal for someone so young.

  2. Total load of rubbish, PANIC buying by Ashley trying to placate the gullible fans so they dont walk away and leave him with an empty STADIUM.

A THROW TOGETHER SECOND RATE SQUAD ,AND A PUPPET HEAD COACH. PATHETIC.
