Newcastle United have completed the signing of Allan Saint-Maximin, with the French winger signing a SIX-year deal at the club from Nice.
Although the club have described the deal as an ‘undisclosed fee’, it’s reported that the fee will be an initial £16.5m PLUS bonuses (with some suggesting those bonuses could take it up to £20m).
Here’s the club’s official announcement video, confirming the arrival of our new no.10!
What’s more, the Chronicle’s Mark Douglas has also claimed that he should be involved in tomorrow’s friendly vs St Etienne – although it’s not yet known if fellow new signing Jetro Willems will feature.
Saint-Maximin has big shoes to fill, with him essentially replacing Ayoze Perez, however he is a huge talent who has the ability to tear apart defences on his day and get bums off seats.
He’s known for his pace, skill and electric dribbling ability, but it’s fair to say he is an inconsistent player who’s had huge issues with his final ball and work rate.
An explosive talent and an exciting signing. Let’s hope he can deliver the goods!
If he’s got as much swag and confidence on the pitch he’ll do just fine 😛
