After reports in France claimed we were ‘in talks’ with Monaco over a deal for Djibril Sidibé just 10 days ago, it’s now reported that Everton are set to sign the French international right-back.
RMC Sport claimed at the back end of last month that both ourselves and West Ham had entered talks over a deal for the right-back, but widespread reports in France now claim that Everton have agreed a loan deal with an option to buy for £13m.
Sidibe has lost his way at Monaco in recent years, however he would’ve been a shrewd addition for us – especially when the emphasis has been placed on us landing a new right-back in what remains of the transfer window.
A cut-price deal for Amiens’ Emila Krafth now looks the most likely arrival between now and 5pm on Thursday, although it remains to be seen if we’ll get a bid accepted after reports last week suggested the Ligue 1 side had already knocked back a £4.5m bid.
Rangers captain James Tavernier has been linked, while the inevitable rumours surrounding Steve Bruce favourite Ahmed Elmohamady have arrived over the past few days – not that either of those deals seem likely.
