So, that’s it – the transfer window is shut and the club are now closed for business.
With two arriving before the 5pm deadline on Friday and one loaned out (with a few others in the pipeline), here’s a summary of what happened on the final day of the summer transfer window:
IN:
- Andy Carroll – (Free)
The 30-year-old has signed an ‘initial’ one-year deal, with him said to be earning a ‘low wage’ which included appearance and goal-based incentives.
- Emil Krafth – (£5m)
The Swedish international right-back has signed a four-year deal with the club, arriving for £5m from Ligue 1 side Amiens.
OUT:
- Jacob Murphy – (Loan – Sheffield Wednesday)
The 24-year-old has completed a season-long loan move to Sheffield Wednesday, with the Owls beating Derby, Fulham and Huddersfield to the deal.
- Achraf Lazaar – Flew out to Italy to discuss a potential loan move with several Serie A sides. He has until September 2nd to secure a deal.
- Kelland Watts – Not announced as of yet but looks set to join League Two side Stevenage on loan.
Elsewhere, the likes of Rolando Aarons, Henri Saivet and Jack Colback have remained, meaning they may have to look for loan moves abroad (like Lazaar) if they are not included in Steve Bruce’s 25-man squad.
