Newcastle have completed the signing of Emil Krafth – who signs a four-year deal at the club following a £5m move from Amiens.
The Swedish international will come in to give us another option at right-back, with his arrival being our 4th signing of the summer so far.
Here’s the unveiling video released by the club in the last few moments:
Here’s what he’s had to say after making the move official today:
“It feels really good. It’s been a busy couple of days, but finally I’m here. I’m very happy to sign for Newcastle and I can’t wait to start training with the guys.
“When a Premier League team wants to sign you, of course you are happy. I know Newcastle is a big club, so I’m very happy to sign here and to be here right now.
“It’s a good moment in my career to take a step forward. The plans Newcastle had for me, I felt like they was fitting me perfectly, so that was why I chose Newcastle.”
Steve Bruce has also had the following to say about the 25-year-old’s arrival on Tyneside:
“We’re pleased to bring him here,”
“He turned 25 last week and has great experience, with more than 20 caps for Sweden and having played in the top flight in three different countries.
“He’s a good height for a full-back, speaks excellent English and is a very good player. He’s a really good acquisition.”
Krafth was part of the Sweden side that made it to the quarter finals of the 2018 World Cup, with him racking up 20 international appearances for his country.
He bagged 1 goal and 1 assist from right-back in Ligue 1 last season and has previously played in Serie A with Bologna.
