According to widespread local reports, Andy Carroll is now edging closer to a sensational return to Newcastle United – however a move could hinge on him passing a medical.
It was suggested last week that Bruce had decided against a move for the 30-year-old last week, but Lee Ryder now claims that the two parties are in talks today, with medical checks underway and the player desperate to complete a return to Tyneside.
The Mail’s Craig Hope also says that he’s been told a deal for Carroll “is more likely to happen than not”, although the Echo’s Scott Wilson has insisted that a final decision will come down to the medical team’s assessment of the striker’s ankle following reconstructive surgery:
It would be another risky move, but on a low basic wage and a contract that includes pay as you play incentives, this could be a great deal on a free.
Andy is a great player if you can get him on the pitch, would have concerns about his life style off the pitch tho and weather he would be a bad influence on what what is a relatively young nufc team.
