Journalist confirms NUFC’s interest in striker Crystal Palace have bid £23m to sign – but asking price too high?

According to the Mail’s Craig Hope, Newcastle have shown interest in Fedor Chalov – but we’ve been put off by CSKA Moscow’s asking price.

The north-east reporter claims that Crystal Palace are also interested in the highly-rated striker and have made a £23m bid – although it’s believed that this ‘might not be enough’ to seal a deal:

As Hope states, the 21-year-old is believed to be the best young talent in Russia, with him bagging an impressive 17 goals and 7 assists in CSKA’s 2018/19 campaign.

This one comes totally out of the blue from a Newcastle United perspective and seems to suggest that we may be in for another striker – something that would make sense given the amount of pressure likely to be resting on Joelinton’s young and inexperienced shoulders ahead of the new season.

With the club said to be pursuing ONE more deal after Krafth’s imminent arrival, these new Chalov claims make you wonder if it’s a striker we are hoping to sign between now and 5pm.
