New footage emerges of stunning ‘makeover’ at St James’ Park – Watch here

New footage emerged last night of the continued “refurbishment” of St James’ Park, and it certainly looks impressive.

In addition to the players entrance, which has been given a motivational quote motif, and the wall around the cash point being painted black, the new fan’s mural in the same area does indeed look excellent.

As anyone walking up to the stadium today will agree, the whole place has been given a lift:

However when I say refurbishment, I mean it’s more of a makeover.

I honestly can’t think of a more perfect metaphor for Mike Ashley’s Newcastle United than this recent makeover. As in it’s very superficial, to the untrained eye it looks perfect and tries to make you forget about the state of the rest of if. While the rest of it dilapidates in the back ground, a quick fix in an area that can be seen inspires and gives hope.

The outside presentation is improved significantly, while the outside world looks on and wonders what we’re complaining about.

The modern day Newcastle fan – looking for silver linings where there aren’t any…..

The author of this piece is exactly right – it is literally papering over the cracks

I find the statement ‘it looks better’ far more embarrassing than anything in the initial article
