The Mail’s Craig Hope has praised Newcastle United duo Mo Sangare and Jack Young following their “very impressive” performances in the U-23’s 3-2 win over Norwich last night.
Neil Redfearn’s side had endured a difficult start to the season, losing their opening three PL 2 games against Reading, West Ham and Man Utd by an aggregate score of 12-1, however they’ve now won back to back games.
They won 2-1 at Fulham last month and have backed that up with another win in front of Steve Bruce on Tuesday night, beating Norwich 3-2 at Whitley Park.
Rosaire Longelo scored a stunner, Luke Charman finished well to make it 2-0 and Thomas Allan got the winner, but onlooking North-East reporter Craig hope was left very impressed by midfield duo Mo Sangare and Jack Young:
Craig then heaped special praise on Sangare, saying he looked ‘physically capable’ of making the step up to first team level, ‘didn’t lose the ball’ and ‘covered the ground quickly’:
Sangare has been a regular in the U-23 setup for a few seasons now, and the 6ft 3′ midfielder has been impressing for his country recently, scoring in their 3-1 World Cup qualifying victory against Sierra Leone earlier this month.
As for Jack Young, the versatile 18-year-old has recently come through the U-18 ranks and is now a regular with the second string, featuring 4 times so far this season.
Two players to keep an eye on for Steve Bruce, who would’ve been impressed with what he saw last night by all accounts.
