Leicester City star a “doubt” for Newcastle game on Sunday – BBC Sport

James Maddison is a ‘doubt’ for our trip to the Leicester on Sunday according to BBC Sport.

Given how influential the England international has been over Leicester City’s opening 6 games of the season, this could be a real boost to our hopes ahead of what promises to be a tough away day this weekend.

Not only did Maddison score the winner and shine in the Foxes 2-1 victory over Spurs last time out – a result that’s lifted them to 3rd – the stats say that no other player has created more chances in the Premier League (109) than him since the start of last season.

He makes them tick and has outstanding vision, technical ability and set piece delivery, with him also scoring in our Carabao Cup clash with Leicester just a few weeks ago.

Leicester’s assistant Chris Davies claims he’ll be assessed in the coming days to see if he can feature, however it sounds like he’s unlikely to start after limping off against Spurs last Saturday.

Regarding all things NUFC, it’s not yet known if Saint-Maximin will be fit to start, but Sean Longstaff is expected to return after recovering from an ankle injury.
