New £300m takeover bid submitted as Peter Kenyon finds US investors – Reports

It’s that time again folks and it didn’t take long, with yet another takeover rumour emerging on Tyneside.

This comes from a Thursday night ‘exclusive’ from the Daily Mail’s Craig Hope, who claims Peter Kenyon has launched a new £300m bid to buy the club alongside US-based investors GACP Sports.

The Sun’s David Coverdale is also running the story, with both stating that an official offer has gone in, with Mike Ashley set to respond within the next 10 days.

The group have also released a 46-page brochure detailing their vision for club and the structure of this potential deal, claiming the Florida-based consortium will be willing to pay an initial £125m up front and the remainder of the £300m fee over a three-year period.

They also indicate that £50m would be injected into the club immediately to cover operational costs, while their 46-page brochure also suggests they’d back Steve Bruce – something several NUFC fans won’t be too happy to hear given how badly his summer appointment went down on Tyneside.

Time will tell if anything comes of this, but after several failed attempts in recent years, you don’t need me to tell you not to build your hopes up!

We’ll always live in hope, but history has also told us to always take these takeover stories with a huge pinch of salt!

  1. It’s so obvious it’s from his failed bid and someone has doctored it, just look at all the errors in the document.
Nothing to see here move along .

  2. well it’s early this year innit?! The clocks haven’t even gone back yet ?

Still at least it’s the same “buyer” as last year, so there should need to be too much work goes into this round of BS.
