Peter Kenyon ‘takeover bid’ to collapse by December? Place your bets..

Here we are again. A new season and a new takeover bid.

Peter Kenyon has returned with a fresh attempt to buy Newcastle United, this time with GACP Capital. Yesterday a 46 page brochure was leaked to a number of journalists. It will come as no real shock to Newcastle United supporters that the brochure does not look very professional at all.

In the brochure there is last season’s squad, as well as the old Premier League badge. This could be seen as being very picky but it doesn’t come across well.

As soon as a takeover is mentioned in the media, especially before official documents and the like have been signed, more often than not it is dead in the water.

Year after year Newcastle takeover news hits our TV screens and our newspapers, it happens so often now that Newcastle supporters are numbed by it all. There is no excitement just a sense of “Here we go again”.

There is no doubt at all that Newcastle United is a fantastic opportunity for the right buyer. However, Mike Ashley and only Mike Ashley will be the only sticking point in any potential deal.

Let’s just say, take this with the biggest pinch of salt you can muster.

  1. Read a headline saying it’s too early to be getting excited about a takeover, just like to say nobody is getting excited end of.
