Mike Ashley not ready to sack Steve Bruce just yet as Lee Charnley meets for talks – Report

According to the Chronicle, Mike Ashley is refusing to hit the panic button just yet – despite our awful start to the season under Steve Bruce.

Lee Ryder’s piece also confirms that Lee Charnley held face to face talks with Bruce after the game at the King Power Stadium, however it seems the club are fully prepared to give him more time to turns things around on Tyneside.

They also report that Mike Ashley is prepared to ‘let Bruce get his feet under the table at United’ after paying hefty compensation to bring him to the club from Sheffield Wednesday just a few months ago, saying ‘he would not be keen to cough up more compensation to pay him off and further money to replace him’.

Maybe Mike you should’ve thought about this before he swapped a world class, Champions league winning manager for one who hadn’t even had much success at Championship level in recent years.

Either way, it’s absolute imperative that results and performances improve drastically over the coming weeks if we’re to stay up – no matter who is in charge.

Sadly, I don’t see any rays of hope while Bruce continues to have us playing with no plan and no identity, with the the team looking visibly lost and unmotivated as a result.

Ashley and Charnley may be backing Bruce for now, but what happens if we lose our next three against Man Utd, Chelsea and Wolves?

It’s totally conceivable based on our last few displays, and we all know what happened last time we sacked a unqualified Newcastle manager too late..

  1. Easy to say they are backing Him they have no choice – no one else wants the job – working for them two muppets must be hell on earth – until the two off the GTF we are knackered – we will be relegated by Jan at this rate,

  2. Bruce went on about tactics very clear to see he hasn’t got any, he’s a donkey along with the two strikers he brought in Carroll and joelinton there are players there that do not believe in the system he plays when players don’t want to play for you your finished, taxi for Bruce, ashley, Charnley and hurry up
