Gary Neville has heaped praise on THAT special interview between the Longstaff brothers last night, believing it should be shown to every young player.
The Geordie duo spoke so honestly and passionately to Sky Sports after playing a huge part in a memorable win over Man Utd, and Neville has revealed why it made him so ‘happy’ – despite it coinciding in a defeat for his beloved Red Devils.
As the opinionated Sky pundit states below, there interview was anything but scripted, with them instead showing an infectious passion for the game after living their dream alongside each other at St James’ Park:
“The Longstaff brothers made me happy yesterday!
“We see hundreds of interviews every year where players/managers are concentrated ,focused and on guard.
“The purity , the joy and the love of football was amazing and it should be shown to every young player. #Dreams“
Matty making his Premier League debut against Manchester United at 19 is good going in itself, but to score the winner and play so brilliantly alongside his brother in the middle of the park is just magical.
Here’s their post match intervie with Sky Sports if you haven’t seen it already. It really is a brilliant watch:
It’s been a tough few months for us Newcastle fans. Bad decisions have been made and hope or positivity has been few and far between, but this is what it’s all about.
A truly special moment for the young duo and an absorbing interview to match their on field heroics.
