The stunning Allan Saint-Maximin stat that may shock a few NUFC fans..

Some impressive stats have emerged today, showing what a supremely talented dribbler Newcastle have on their hands in Allan Saint-Maxmin.

Admittedly, the Frenchman has only played 140 minutes of football this season, however the 22-year-old is Europe’s top dribbler as things stand, with an average of 6.2 successful dribbles per 90 minutes played this season.

Here is a list of the top 8 across Europe’s top 5 leagues so far this campaign:

  • Allan Saint-Maximin (6.2)
  • Wilfried Zaha (5.2)
  • Neymar (4.8)
  • Angel Di Maria (4.7)
  • Nabil Fekir (4.4)
  • Frank Ribery (4.3)
  • Youcef Atal (4.3)
  • Nicolas Pépé (4.0)

The stats may be slightly misleading, as Saint-Maximin has only made four appearances for the Magpies so far this season. But if these are a sign of things to come from the former Nice winger, then things certainly look positive with him in our side.

He always looks to get forward with pace once he receives the ball at his feet, with him possessing that spark and flare that Newcastle have lacked for a while now.

These stats are not something we should be getting carried away with – would you judge a striker who scored 2 in 2 the same as a striker who scored 8 in 12? But at least this list shows some positive stats about NUFC for a change.

Let’s hope this continues and he can deliver on a consistent basis in a black and white shirt!
