Transfer boost for NUFC as January target is now interested in joining the club – Report

Hull City Star Jarrod Bowen is open to the idea of joining Newcastle United in January according to the Chronicle.

This comes from their latest piece on the transfer front, which confirms that the Championship winger has been mentioned frequently in recruitment summits.

That said, the Tigers are expected to trigger a contract extension which will prolong his deal at the club beyond the summer, meaning he will NOT be available at any cut-price fee in January.

Here’s a snippet from The Chronicle’s piece:

One name fed into summits is Hull City’s Jarrod Bowen, who is entering the final year of his contract. But the Tigers have an option to trigger another year, which they plan to do.

Bowen would tick every Newcastle box and is understood to be open to the idea of a move to St James’ Park – but whether United would extend to the reported £20million fee is another matter.

So, it sounds like he’s open to the idea of making the move to St James’ Park in the new year, however it remains to be seen if we’ll be willing to fork out the reported £20m fee Hull look likely to demand.

He bagged 22 times last season and has contributed to 6 goals already this term, so Hull will be highly reluctant to cash in on their star man.

As a result, I can only see this one happening if A) we manage to haggle on price or B) we’re in deep trouble and must spend to stay up come January.
